I Am “The Bread of Life”  John 6:32-40
Now we begin today’s message with Jesus going over to the other side, and when He gets there, they come and ask him, “WHV” How in the world did you get over here?  But Jesus commands the conversation by bouncing right over the obvious miracles, and declared that He already knew why they had come. They came because they had been fed by the Bread of Life and they were full and satisfied. (That’s a great feeling to be full and satisfied!)
But, this was different; the statement was this;
27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
In other words, invest into the labor that will last. Jesus said; I am that Bread!
This peaked some interest in the disciples…(They asked)how do we work the works of God? AND, Jesus answered them swiftly, clearly and precisely, “Here is your answer” It’s Me! I AM! 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (Invest in Jesus)
Jesus took this opportunity to teach them, as He does us today, that He is the Bread of Life and we have no other need except for Him.
In Fact, Christ gives this description found in verse 32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
Here is Jesus, claiming to be from Heaven. Now, on a side note, Vs 41 begins to describe the dismissal of Christ deity. “42-We know his Mom and Dad, How can he come from Heaven?” Of course Jesus has an answer for them, but we need to understand today that the folks of this world still murmur the same thing. It comes down to Faith!!!
They denied Him then and they deny Him today. Let’s remember this though,
Matthew 10:33-35 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. That is Serious Stuff!!!  No Denial of Jesus!!!
Now, let’s turn our attention back to verse 35…
I. Notice the Powerful Proclamation V. 35a “I Am the Bread of Life”
Let’s remember that the folks were searching for Jesus because they were hungry. The Disciples were the same and this is what Jesus told them… It’s not the miracles, it’s the food, BUT there are things more important things than food…ME! I Am the Bread of Life
A.    I Am Worthy of your Confidence. “I AM”
a.       He perfectly satisfies our spiritual hunger (He who comes to Me shall never hunger) 35
b.      He receives all who come to Him (All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out) 37
c.       He isn't interested in His own agenda, but His Father's (not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me) 38
d.      He will keep those who come to Him safe (all He has given Me I should lose nothing) 39
e.       The destiny of those who believe in Him is eternal life (everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life) 40
f.       This Powerful Proclamation is you can trust me!

Invitation to the Table: Come to this table, not because you must but because you may, not because you are strong, but because you are weak. Come, not because any goodness of your own gives you a right to come, but because you need mercy and help. Come, because you love the Lord a little and would like to love him more. Come, because he loved you and gave himself for you. Come and meet the risen Christ, for we are his Body.
